The company also opened its U.S. branch in San Francisco setting up a dedicated team for North America led by Franco Dal Molin, President and Founder of Collanos.
Collanos Workplace 1.0 is widely deployed throughout Europe and the United States. It offers small business teams, students, faculty, and knowledge-sharing professionals, an easy-to-use set of comprehensive collaboration tools. Collanos' global collaborative network allows internet users to easily form teams and effectively collaborate together on a shared passion, goal, or project. Collanos is free, runs serverless, and is platform independent - available for Mac, Windows, and Linux PCs.
Its unique peer-to-peer infrastructure allows users to finally have a collaboration solution that is affordable. Anyone can invite colleagues, friends, or partners to a team workspace where members can immediately share and organize their files, notes and links, lead discussions, and assign tasks. Collanos\' peer-to-peer technology keeps workspaces in sync by storing a copy of the shared workspace locally on each individual PCs.
"In the past, effective collaboration services have primarily focused on enterprise organizations," said Franco Dal Molin. "In doing so, small businesses, telecommuters, students, dispersed, ad-hoc, and cross-organizational teams could not afford licenses or the IT infrastructure to run and maintain the collaboration system."
"Collanos now reduces the entry barriers to effective teamwork support by offering free, fully functional collaboration solutions that empower internet users to do things together more efficiently and productively, and without requiring additional expensive investments in technology and support," said Peter Helfenstein, CEO of Collanos.
According to Collanos user Mark Frazier, President of Openworld, "Collanos is delivering the teamware solution that Openworld has been searching for. We are a non-profit organization working with aspiring entrepreneurs from all over the world who are moving into online telework markets. Collanos makes it affordable for us to share innovative collaboration solutions with entrepreneurs who otherwise could not afford such tools. Having Collanos now in the United States will allow us to work closely with them in building an application that will greatly benefit millions of people around the world."
